Guangzhou
(page 1)
We spent most of our time in China in the city of Guangzhou. This
page contains various pictures we took while we where in Guangzhou.
| This 7-Eleven was located across the street from the White Swan Hotel. Many of the buildings near the hotel had bamboo scaffolding fastened to their exterior. Workers were putting a new face or surface on the exterior of the buildings. | |
| Even tall buildings had bamboo scaffolding covering the exterior. Tall buildings also had green netting affixed to the scaffolding to keep the workers from falling to the ground. | |
| A park with manicured bushes was located a short distance from the White Swan. Workers were installing a new sidewalk. | |
| Some of the local people would exercise in the park. | |
| This woman exercised with swords. | |
| Guangzhou has a tropical climate. | |
| Each Banyan tree in the city
had a marker. |
|
| Some local women would meet in a park near the White Swan to play Mahjong. | |
| Some of the men got in on the Mahjong action too. | |
| A meat market located about a block from the White Swan hotel had fish, eels, turtles and other live animals for sale. | |
| I'm not sure what these worm-like creatures are, but I believe it may be the intestines of snakes or some other animals. I saw another small tub of these at the snake restaurant we visited. |
