Chinese Currency
Back to China photo page

Most of the places we visited in China did not accept American currency.  Some of the larger stores or hotels would accept credit cards, but for the most part we converted our money into Chinese Yuan or Renminbi.

These are a few of the coins I received.  The small silver coins are 1 Jiao coins which is worth a penny.  The larger silver coins are 1 Yuan, which is a Chinese dollar.  The brass colored coin is a 5 Yuan piece, which is 5 Chinese dollars.
This image and the next image are 1 Jiao, which is a Chinese penny.  The Jiao currency is smaller in size than the Chinese dollar bills.
This image and the next image are 2 Jiao, which is worth two Chinese cents.
This 5 Jiao is worth 5 cents.
This image is the 1 Yuan.  It is worth 1 Chinese dollar.
