Door County Wisconsin is located east and north of Green Bay Wisconsin. It is the peninsula that sticks out into Lake Michigan.

School House beach on Washington Island is a rarity in nature. It is different than most other beaches in that is is naturally covered with white smooth stones. The beach got its name from the log schoolhouse built there in 1850. There is a stiff fine for anyone removing stones from the beach.
